Tesla Canada is unveiling a final limited-edition “Signature Series” of the Plaid Model S and Model X — 350 vehicles total — as a grand farewell to its flagship electric vehicles before their production ends for good. This exclusive collection comprises 250 Model S and 100 Model X vehicles, all featuring a striking Garnet Red exterior and luxurious gold accents.
Access to this invite-only program is exclusively via email to select Tesla owners. The Signature Series boasts an exclusive Garnet Red paint colour, unavailable on any current Tesla production vehicle, with matching door handles on the Model S. The exterior is further distinguished by gold Tesla T badges on the front, a gold Plaid badge on the rear, and a Signature badge.
Inside, occupants will find a white interior with Alcantara and badging, gold Plaid seat badges with gold piping, Signature-marked door sills, and a unique numbering plate on the dash (e.g., 1/250 or 1/100). Additional touches include gold Plaid puddle lights and a special interior lighting sequence.
The Model S Signature Series comes equipped with carbon ceramic brakes and gold calipers, while the Model X retains its standard red Plaid calipers. Both vehicles feature the yoke steering wheel, with the Model S outfitted with 21-inch wheels and the Model X with 22-inch wheels. Additional features include a Signature Edition key fob, black skull caps potentially with Signature branding, and the Luxe Package.
The Model X Signature Series Plaid is priced at $159,420 CAD, reflecting a roughly $30,000 CAD premium over the current Model X Plaid inventory price of $129,900 CAD. This current price already includes a $15,000 CAD increase announced earlier this month as inventory dwindled. Although the exact pricing for the Model S Signature Series hasn’t been confirmed, it is expected to be in a similar range — likely around $155,000 CAD, based on the same premium structure.
Canadian buyers may be eligible for various incentives and rebates depending on their province. For instance, Ontario residents can benefit from the iZEV (Innovation and Zero-Emission Vehicles) program, which offers rebates of up to $4,000 CAD for eligible vehicles. Additional provincial incentives may also be available, so it’s advisable to check with local authorities or Tesla Canada for the most current information.
Tesla is planning a celebration event in May, scheduled to take place “at sunset,” providing a fitting send-off for vehicles that first launched in 2012 and 2015. This event will likely appeal to Canadian Tesla enthusiasts and collectors.
As confirmed earlier this month, Tesla has ended production of the Model S and Model X, with only about 600 units remaining in global inventory — approximately 295 Model S and 301 Model X, almost all located in the United States. Elon Musk announced the conclusion of these programs during Tesla’s Q4 2025 earnings call in January, describing it as an “honourable discharge.” The Fremont factory line that manufactured these iconic vehicles is now being converted to produce Optimus humanoid robots.
The “Signature” name holds significant historical value. When the Model S launched in 2012, the first 1,000 units sold were “Signature” editions, requiring a $40,000 CAD deposit and costing nearly $100,000 CAD each. Those original Signature owners were Tesla’s earliest supporters. This final Signature run aims to honour that legacy.
While the Garnet Red paint, gold accents, and numbered dash plates make for an exquisite collector’s edition, the pricing poses a challenge. At $159,420 CAD for the Model X — and an expected $155,000 CAD+ for the Model S — Tesla is asking a substantial premium for vehicles that have remained largely unchanged since the 2021 refresh. For dedicated Tesla collectors seeking a numbered piece of history, the Signature Series presents a unique opportunity, despite the high cost.
